SUSTAINABLE BY CONVICTION
We embrace sustainability concepts right from the design process, creating collections that combine quality and durability. Through timeless design in cut and color, we ensure that our products are aligned with contemporary fashion styles, yet ignore fleeting trends to ensure they endure. We take our time for this—not just a few weeks, but several months. To ensure we can thoroughly engage with our products, we only release two collections a year, for spring/summer and fall/winter. This allows us to create products that impress with both fit and design.
Thanks to our in-house sample sewing facility in Aachen, we can not only guarantee that every LANA garment has passed through our hands and been treated, finished, and finished with meticulous attention to detail, but above all, that, in addition to working closely on each individual product, resources and CO₂ emissions have been minimized and saved. Our in-house pattern department allows us to develop sophisticated and comfortable designs that will become high-quality and timeless companions.
In order to minimize the use of chemicals for the benefit of our environment and wearers, we always use natural and predominantly non-animal raw materials when selecting materials, which are proven to comply with social and environmental standards through our certificates such as the GOTS seal or vegan-proved by Peta.
THE JOURNEY OF YOUR GARMENT
1. DESIGN / COLLECTION
Aachen, Germany
The design process begins here in Aachen. Here, our design team, together with our pattern-making and sewing departments, develops the collections for LANA and LANA Baby.
2. DESIGN / PRINTS
Aachen, Germany
Our prints are designed and created in-house, allowing us to adapt our designs to the collections and thus maintain our unique style. Each print is therefore unique.

3. YARNS
Portugal
For our fine knitwear, we source the organic cotton from our yarn supplier in Portugal. The company is GOTS-certified and supplies us with exactly the quantities we need, so we don't have to order unnecessary yarn.

4. KNITTING
Germany, Lithuania and Portugal
The yarns are then processed directly by our knitters in Germany, Portugal or Lithuania.

5. FABRIC PRODUCTION AND FINISHING
Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and Türkiye
We mostly rely on our proven qualities, which are given a new design through new colors and prints. In the dyeing, printing, and finishing processes , we avoid chlorine bleach and formaldehyde, toxic dyes containing heavy metals, carcinogenic AZO dyes, and synthetic resin finishes.
6. READY-TO-MAKE: CUTTING / SEWING / WASHING
Poland, Lithuania and Türkiye
The fabric production and assembly of our collections takes place exclusively in Germany and Europe, which results in shorter delivery routes and thus protects the climate and the environment. During assembly, the fabrics are cut and sewn together. We only produce what our retailers order, thus avoiding overproduction. Our manufacturing facilities are predominantly GOTS-certified and ensure compliance with the strict guidelines. We have been working with the same producers for many years, thus building a long-standing partnership.
7. QUALITY ASSURANCE
Germany
In the final step, the finished garments are inspected and prepared for shipping. We ensure that as little packaging as possible is used during transport. We completely avoid plastic and secure our garments with paper bands made from FSC-certified paper.
PACKAGING
DURABLE. OUT OF LOVE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
When it comes to shipping, we consciously focus on reducing packaging. Therefore, we don't use plastic bags from the producer to our warehouse, in the warehouse itself, or on the way to you. Instead, our LANA products are carefully wrapped in a narrow band made of FSC-certified paper, which is necessary for proper shipping and storage.
If you order a LANA product in our online shop, you will receive a shipping bag containing only the product, a return label and a return slip.
