Lenzing™ EcoVero™ Viscose
Our new addition to our collection is the Lenzing ™ EcoVero ™ from Lenzing. The same principle as with Tencel ™ : the viscose is obtained from a natural substance and is therefore a natural fiber with botanical Origin . The Lyocell fiber comes from certified and controlled sources according to the strict guidelines of the Lenzing wood and pulp policy and is produced with significantly less fossil energy and water . Compared to conventional viscose, fiber production causes 50% fewer emissions and water consumption. This makes viscose a sustainable material that uses significantly less water than cotton and significantly fewer chemicals than conventional viscose.
We are very happy to be able to include it in our range not only as a woven fabric but also as a jersey material, as viscose is very popular, especially due to its great shine and beautiful drape.
Advantages: The fiber's production requires 50% less water than conventional viscose and significantly less than that used in cotton cultivation. Lenzing also enables 100% transparency throughout the supply chain. The fiber is naturally sourced and has a soft feel.
Disadvantages: Fiber extraction cannot be carried out without chemicals, so the fiber is no longer untreated.
