Cotton
We use exclusively certified organic cotton (kbA) . This term is governed by the guidelines for organic farming and is certified and monitored by independent institutions. It is legally protected and prohibits the use of chemicals, genetic engineering, and synthetic pesticides. The cotton is harvested by hand, and no defoliants are permitted. Social standards are also certified. The majority of our organic cotton products are also GOTS certified.
Advantages: A renewable raw material that is biodegradable and recyclable. The cotton is skin-friendly, breathable, and easy to care for.
Disadvantages: The water consumption in cotton cultivation is extremely high, and even in organic cultivation, consumption is still higher than for other materials. Furthermore , the cotton plant prefers dry areas where water is a dwindling and scarce resource.
